Our Policies

Reports

Reports are issued at the end of every term (Autumn, Spring and Summer), which are followed up by parent meetings with the class teacher.  Parents may also request a meeting with the class teacher at any other time; however, an appointment must be made through the school office.

Behaviour

It is a primary aim of our school that every member of the school community feels valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly and well.  We are a caring community, whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all.  School behaviour is therefore designed to encourage the way in which all members of the school can live and work together in a supportive way.  It aims to promote an environment where everyone feels happy, safe and secure.

We have a number of school rules, but the primary aim is a means of promoting good relationships, so that children and staff can work together with the common purpose of helping everyone to learn.

The school expects every member of the school community to behave in a considerate way towards others.

We aim to treat all children fairly.  We aim to help children to grow in a safe and secure environment, and to become positive, responsible and increasingly independent members of the school.

Punctuality

Children are expected to arrive punctually for school as lateness disrupts teachers and classes, therefore we ask for parents’ cooperation on this matter. A register is kept of late arrivals and marked on the school reports.

School starts at 9.10am; however children are expected to be at school by 9.00am. The academic day ends at 4.00pm and once again we expect children to be collected promptly.

School Uniform

Uniform gives students and the school a means of identification and a sense of pride in being part of the school.  Children must wear the correct school uniform during school hours. Every item of school clothing must be clearly labelled with the pupil’s name to avoid loss of clothing.  A winter and summer school uniform is available from the school office and a list is available on request.
