Special Needs
Additional Educational Needs
At Calpe School all children are valued, respected and welcome whatever their additional need. We will support their learning and inclusion.
The special Educational Needs code of Practice 2001 recognises there are four broad areas:
- Communication and interaction (language and autistic spectrum disorders)
- Cognition and learning (general learning and specific learning difficulties)
- Physical & Sensory
- Behavioural, emotional and social
Our set procedure for identifying and assessing the special needs of individual children involves the child, parents or guardians, teaching staff and external agencies. We are able to fast track children for full assessment to our Educational/Child Psychologist Mr F Trinidad.
Parents a play vital part in the education of their children and at Calpe school we like to work closely with all parents whatever the needs of their children.
