Year 1

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! I hope everybody has had a lovely Christmas break and is refreshed

with batteries fully charged ready for another term of hard work!

The School follows the British National Curriculum.   Literacy, Numeracy and Spanish

are taught daily. 


Good pencil control and handwriting aids the ability to learn spellings and of course

to be able to record work well and quickly with confidence. The emphasis on the

handwriting skills of all of the children is now embedded in our daily work at

Calpe School.

Welcome back to the Spring Term. I would like to take the opportunity to wish you

all a very Happy New Year. We will be carrying out some exciting projects this term.

Year 5 & 6

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to Calpe and the 2012 Spring Term. I hope you and the children

all enjoyed the Christmas break. Certainly many of the children in class have

enjoyed not only holidays here in Spain but also in fantastic locations around

the world on three different continents.

No more dreaming! It is back to work for all of us and we are again looking

forward to a very busy, productive and happy spring term.

Spanish Class

Dear Parents,

Welcome back students and parents. My name is Ms Rocío Castro, the Spanish

teacher, and I will be teaching the Spanish curriculum to your child this year.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the values and the

environment you can expect in our Spanish class.

I very much value an inclusive philosophy within my classroom; all my students

are viewed as essential contributors to the entire group. I recognize that everyone

learns at different speeds, and I will honour and respect all abilities. As your child’s

Spanish teacher, I will make every effort to adapt those students with special needs,

the methods and materials that will enable them to learn effectively, while equally

challenging those students who are more advanced.
