In Literacy Reception shared the story ‘Rosie’s Walk’ and drew their own maps to show all the parts of the farm that she saw on her walk. In Maths they put pictures from the story in the correct places on a large farm map and used positional vocabulary to describe the route that Rosie took around the farm e.g. under the beehives, through the gate, round the pond. They also shared the story ‘Farmyard Hullabaloo’. During their free play they used magnifying glasses to read tiny ‘Tricky Words’ in a farm scene, completed farm number puzzles, played with the small world farm animals and homes and made farm animal stick puppets and masks.
