Fun with Flapjacks

As part of their Design and Technology unit, Year 1 have been learning how to safely and healthily prepare food. This week, they learned the effects of heating and cooling on food by making healthy flapjacks. They watched butter melt from a solid to a liquid when exposed to heat, and then later observed the flapjacks set after being exposed to the cold. They also enjoyed eating and evaluating them afterwards - delicious!
