Jack and the Beanstalk

In Literacy Reception shared the story ‘Jack and the beanstalk’ and put the pictures in the correct order to retell the story using story language. In Maths they wrote double number sentences using beanstalks made from interlocking cubes. During their free play inside they read and matched rhyming leaves on a beanstalk, measured beanstalks with cubes and measured ourselves using a beanstalk height chart. Outside they used character masks and stick puppets to act out the story and ordered numbered leaves, adding the correct amount of beans to each one. They also went on a QR code hunt. They used the iPad to scan the numbered QR codes in order and used the pictures generated by the codes to retell the story.
