Roaring Rockets!

In Literacy Reception shared the story ‘Whatever Next’ about a bear that goes to the moon. They wrote a list of all the things we would take with them if they went to the moon. In Maths they counted backwards and forwards along a number line to the moon with rockets to make addition and subtraction number sentences. During their free play they made their own rockets using boxes and had a pretend picnic on the moon. They also ordered numbered underpants from the story ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ and made rockets using tubes, tissue paper and foil. In Creative time they made aliens using our hand prints and used pastels to draw a picture of all the planets making sure they were the correct size and colour.
