Shine a Light

The children have been learning about the topic of Light in Year 5 & 6 this half term. This week, they were investigating how they see colour. Using coloured filters, they discovered that they see the colour of an object because that is the only colour that is reflected - all other colours are absorbed. For example, when they looked at a green object through a green filter, the object still looked green. However, when they looked at a green object through a red filter, the object looked black, because the green light could not travel through the red filter!
