Year 5/6 Heart Science

This term in Year 5 & 6, they have been learning all about the circulatory system, in particular the importance of the heart. Of course what better way is there to learn about it than dissecting one! They used lamb hearts as these are actually quite similar to human ones. They worked together to identify the external features of the heart and then cut the heart open to look inside! They were able to identify the different chambers in the heart, as well as the valves and the heart strings
